Job summary

Tessera is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic EVT II in Silverdale, WA to maintain and repair a wide range of heavy equipment and emergency service vehicles. You will diagnose malfunctions, rebuild engines and power systems, and ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently.

The role requires advanced technical expertise, welding and fabrication skills, and EVT Level II/ARFF certifications, with CDL Class B preferred. Full-time, day shift, non-exempt, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5-8 years as automotive/mechanical technician or related field.
  • EVT LVL 2 Fire Apparatus and ARFF certs preferred; ASE certs desirable.
  • CDL Class B preferred; ability to read manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair wheeled and track vehicles and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctions, rebuild engines and power systems.
  • Perform inspections and repairs to brakes, suspensions, wheels and steering.
  • Follow manuals, lube orders and hydraulic schematics for diagnosis.
  • Train and supervise staff; ensure safe, efficient operations.

Tesserais seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic/EVT II tomaintainand repair a wide range of heavy machinery and emergency service vehicles. In this role, you will diagnose malfunctions, rebuildenginesand power systems, and ensure equipmentoperatessafely and efficiently. This position requires advanced technicalexpertise, welding and fabrication skills, and a higher level of certification than Heavy Mechanic Level I.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs maintenance of equipment includes, but not limited to, wheeled vehicles, track vehicles, engineer equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment.

  • Accomplish minor repairs and perform services as outlined inestablishedtechnical manuals.

  • Perform inspection and repairofbrakes, suspension, wheels,hubsand steering systems.

  • Understand and follow technical manuals, lube orders, wiring and hydraulic schematics to ensure proper diagnosis and repair during annual services.

  • Perform major repair jobs by disassembling and cleaning parts, removing components, removal and installation ofassemblies,and installation of components.

  • Maintain Operational Vehicle Maintenance schedules.

  • Responsible for various reports- i.e., schedules, training, attendance, evaluations, various employee documentations, correct time keeping, and accident reports.

  • Train employees on job tasks and assignments to ensure complete understanding of work assigned.

  • Monitor employee performance to ensure efficient use of time and performance of work tasks.

  • Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

  • Coach,mentorand resolve employee concerns in a respectful and mutually beneficial manner.

  • Monitor employees to ensure efficient use of time,performance,and understanding of work tasks.

  • Record daily personnel attendance and track employee absences, tardiness, etc.

  • This position may be subject to call-back availability based on operational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Highschool Diploma/GED isrequired.

  • 5-8 years of experience as an automotive mechanic or closely related field.

  • A combination of education and experience can be considered.

  • Certifications supporting EVT LVL 2 Fire Apparatus and ARFF Vehicle Technician to include ASE (T-2thruT-7) and EVT (F-1thruF-4 and A-1thruA-2).

  • CDL Class B is preferred.

  • Knowledgeable inthe maintenanceof military vehicles and equipment.

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow technical manuals to ensure proper diagnosis and repair.

  • Ability to read and troubleshoot repairs on brakes, suspensions, wheels, hubs, and steering systems.
