Job summary

Illinois Cement Company is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to diagnose routine maintenance issues and determine corrective actions. You will repair and retrofit parts, service hydraulic systems, and apply precision tools to ensure vehicle reliability on-site.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and the ability to follow supervisor guidance. Candidates should be prepared for hands-on work with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a mechanic is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic math skills required.
• Demonstrated ability to take guidance and direction from a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids.
• Use computerized equipment along with lathes, welding torches, pneumatic wrenches, hydraulic jacks, screwdrivers, pliers, mallets and precision gauges.
• Test drive trucks before and after repairs, as needed.

Duties

• Use computerized equipment along with lathes, welding torches, pneumatic wrenches, hydraulic jacks, screwdrivers, pliers, mallets and precision gauges.
