Job summary

Illinois Cement Company LLC is seeking a skilled maintenance mechanic to diagnose and repair fleet equipment and trucks. You will perform diagnostic tests, determine corrective actions for damaged parts, and execute repairs to keep company vehicles operational.

You will use a range of tools and test equipment, test drive vehicles before and after service, and work under supervision to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
• Previous experience as a mechanic is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.
• Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids.
• Test drive trucks before and after repairs, as needed.

Duties

Perform diagnostic tests for routine maintenance procedures and determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.

• Repair malfunctioning components, retrofit engines, change brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn-out parts and change hydraulic fluids.
• Use computerized equipment along with lathes, welding torches, pneumatic wrenches, hydraulic jacks, screwdrivers, pliers, mallets and precision gauges.
• Test drive trucks before and after repairs, as needed.

Job Qualifications

• Previous experience as a mechanic required.
