Job summary

Nevada Cement Company in Fernley, NV is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to repair, inspect, and overhaul plant equipment. You will read blueprints and manuals, operate machinery, and document service records to meet safety and manufacturer specs.

Responsibilities include parts ordering, pre/post-trip checks, routine maintenance, and fabricating parts as needed. Day-one benefits are offered and a competitive pay package is provided.

Qualifications

• Repair and replace worn parts per specs.
• Read operating manuals, blueprints and drawings.
• Inspect machines to diagnose defects.
• Maintain logs of service and hours compliant with regs.
• Perform pre/post trip inspections and routine maintenance.
• Wear required PPE and work with or without supervision.

Specific Job Requirements

• Repair and replace damage or worn parts.
• Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
• Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
• Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Mechanical knowledge sufficient to perform pre and post trip inspections.
• Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
• Basic knowledge of machine operating maintenance procedures.
• Must wear required PPE equipment.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Adjust, maintain and repair or replace subassemblies, such as transmissions using hand-tools, jacks, and cranes.
• Research, order, and maintain parts inventory for services and repairs.
• Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
• Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment, and keep equipment service records.
• Clean, lubricate, and perform other routin maintenance work on equipment service records.
• Fabricate needed parts or items from sheet metal.
• Must be able to work with or without supervision.
