An established industry player is seeking a skilled Mechanic to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will utilize a range of hand and power tools to conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diverse vehicles including gas, diesel, and CNG powered coaches. Your expertise will ensure the safety and functionality of essential transit equipment while leading a team of mechanics. Effectively uses a variety of hand, power, and computer diagnostic tools and testing instruments to perform complex inspection, diagnostic, overhaul, and repair functions for District vehicles and equipment, including gas, diesel, and CNG powered coaches, trucks, cars, fare boxes, fare collection equipment, small machinery, power tools, and support equipment. Performs off-site and emergency repairs, may serve as team leader or Lead Mechanic, and ensures safe work practices to maintain a safe environment.
Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, diagnoses, builds, rebuilds, overhauls, and maintains pneumatic, mechanical, and electronic systems on revenue and non-revenue vehicles and equipment. Reads blueprints, schematics, and job orders; makes road calls; operates District vehicles safely during duties; may instruct or assist other Mechanics; and performs related duties.
