Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required, plus 5+ years of related work experience.
• Fabrication, cutting, welding, bearing replacement, engine service/maintenance (gas and diesel) and automotive electrical skills.
• Brake adjustment/repair (mechanical and air) and hydraulic troubleshooting/repair.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record; CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements preferred.

Responsibilities

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

Schedules and performs vehicle and equipment repairs in response to requests from staff and location managers .

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Schedules maintenance and repairs of vehi cles and equipment as requested.

Maintains an appropriate inventory of parts necess ary for repairs and maintenance.

Maintains service records of each piece of equipment and vehicle to d ocument a quality maintenance pr ogram and meet DOT requirements.

Responsible for housekeeping of the shop .

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

May be required to provide backup to drivers in t he Energy and Crops Departments.

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety , OSHA and DOT policies and procedures , as they apply.

Perfor ms all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Normally requires a high school diploma , or the equivalent thereof, and 5 years or more of related work experience

Required skills include fabrication, cutting, welding, bearing replacement, engine s ervice/maintenance/adjustments (both gas & diesel), automotive electrical, brake adjustment/repair (both mechanical & air) and hydraulic tro ubleshooting/repair.

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decisi on making and skill development.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.

Normally requires an acceptable CDL with Hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Frequently exposedor required to:

Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)

Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures

May be required to work at varying heights

Confined spaces

Required to push heavy objects

Ability to work extended hours.

Ability to travel independently and overnight.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
