Role Description

The Mechanic role is a full‑time, on‑site position located in Iron Mountain, MI. The Mechanic will inspect, diagnose, and repair company vehicles and heavy construction equipment, including trucks, loaders, and paving machinery. Daily tasks include performing routine maintenance, conducting preventive checks, completing repairs, and documenting all work performed. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, replacing parts, and coordinating with supervisors to minimize equipment downtime. The Mechanic will also follow safety standards, maintain a clean and organized work area, and collaborate with operations staff to ensure equipment is ready for scheduled projects.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Maintenance, Maintenance & Repair for vehicles and construction equipment.
• Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs, including scheduled inspections and service.
• Hands‑on ability working with Heavy Equipment, such as trucks, loaders, and paving machinery.
• Proficiency in Troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems.
• Relevant technical training or certification in automotive or diesel technology is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and technical documentation.
• Commitment to safety practices and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Valid driver’s license; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is a plus.
