Job summary

Stockhausen Superabsorber in Greensboro, NC seeks a Mechanic to maintain and improve plant equipment. You will perform repairs, installations, and modifications while ensuring safety procedures and regulatory compliance are followed. The role requires hands-on maintenance experience and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School degree with technical training equivalent to 1-3 years of applied trades training.
• Minimum 1-3 years’ hands-on maintenance experience in handling equipment repair or fabrication.
• Capable of scoring points on required skill proficiency tests within 120 days of employment.
• Meticulous work ethic with a high degree of self-motivation.
• Extensive knowledge of general maintenance and fabrication detail.
• Knowledge of machine design and troubleshooting plant equipment.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• High level of quality and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Promote an efficient work environment with focus on personal and others' safety.
• Perform repairs, modifications or installations to equipment to maintain reliability.
• Follow lock out, closed system, confined space, and hot work procedures.
• Inspect plant equipment and correct issues found during daily checks.
• Perform repairs or modifications on work orders as assigned.
• Install or modify new equipment as assigned.
• Notify appropriate personnel of equipment changes.
• Fabricate or repair spare parts as needed.
• Participate in overtime and coverage as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment and correct failed components.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and safety requirements.

Your Responsibilities

• Responsible for promoting an efficient work environment with a key focus on the employee’s own safety and the safety of others.
• Perform a wide variety of repairs, modifications or installations to equipment to maintain a reliable operating facility.
• Perform correct procedures for ‘lock out’, ‘closed system entry’, ‘confined space entry’, and ‘hot work’ as specified in plant procedures.
• Makes a visual and auditory inspection of plant mechanical operating equipment and corrects problems found during daily inspections.
• Performs repairs or modifications specified on work orders as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor or Shift Supervisor.
• Install or modify new equipment as assigned.
• Keep appropriate personnel notified of changes in plant equipment or modifications to the original design.
• Fabricate or repair spare parts as needed.
• Participate in overtime activities as required including down-day activities, vacation or illness coverage, or assist with additional workloads as required.
• Troubleshoot equipment and correct any failed components as well as any components that may have contributed to the original failure.
• Compliance with applicable regulations and occupational safety requirements

What You Bring To The Table
