Job summary

SEI Solutions is seeking a mechanic in Chesterton, IN to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial and industrial vehicles. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems, and perform inspections as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean and safe work environment, moving equipment on the yard, handling emergency service calls, and assisting with warehouse duties. ASE/CDL preferred but not required; own tools welcomed.

Qualifications

• Team player with good work ethic and reliability.
• Mechanically inclined with interest in preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Diesel experience helpful though not required.
• ASE certification or CDL is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

This includes gasoline and diesel type vehicles and equipment. Some of the responsibilities are:* Perform repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services* Perform inspection, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment* Automotive repair* Light and heavy diesel automobile repairs* Review, complete or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports* Maintain a clean and safe working environment* Move company equipment safely on yard as needed* Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns* Assist with general warehouse and shop/yard duties## Qualifications**Qualifications** We are looking for someone who:* ASE Certified (preferred but not required)* Class A or B CDL (preferred but not required)* works well with a team* is a hard worker* is reliable* is mechanically inclined* has diesel experience (not required)* has their own tools
