Job summary

GetHired, Inc. is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment & Fleet Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and equipment, from tractor-trailers to construction machinery.

The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, troubleshooting abilities, and proficiency with hand tools, welding, and diagnostic equipment. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Carroll, OH with travel to various job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, diesel engines, and mechanical repair procedures
• Experience with heavy equipment, trailers, and construction machinery
• Proficiency with hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding/fabrication tools
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid Driver’s License preferred
• CDL License preferred
• Mechanical certifications are a plus

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and construction machinery
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine service inspections
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical components, and diesel engines
• Conduct repairs on tractor-trailers and other fleet vehicles
• Fabricate and modify parts as needed using welding and fabrication equipment
• Safely operate heavy equipment during inspections and repairs
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and parts usage
• Work closely with operators and management to minimize equipment downtime
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractor-trailers, construction equipment, hydraulic systems, and diesel-powered machinery.
