Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation offers a Mechanical Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. You will assist the Engineering Team responsible for plumbing product development and certification for backflow and valve markets, including high-pressure testing.

As part of the internship, you’ll run reports, share analyses, and contribute to process improvements in a hands-on learning environment with coaching and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or similar.
• Completed coursework related to design.
• Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
• Efficient and detail-oriented.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Perform basic product design modifications.
• Carry out AutoCAD & Inventor drafting tasks for revisions and creation.
• Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment.
• Support engineering change processes to assist existing products.
• Communicate with team members to gather requirements and report progress.
• Conduct technical research to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Create rapid prototypes using 3D printing.
• Test plumbing products to meet performance standards and report results.
