Job summary

Zurn Elkay Water Solutions Corporation invites a Summer Engineering Intern to join the Engineering Team supporting backflow and pressure reducing valve product development. You will assist with design work, drafting, testing, and documentation, gaining hands-on experience in a fast-growing environment.

The program offers real work experience, mentorship, and networking events, with a 40-hour summer workweek and opportunities to run reports and analyze data using MS Office and CAD tools.

Qualifications

• Currently attending school for a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Plastics Engineering Technology, or similar
• Must have completed coursework relating to design
• Able to work 40 hours per week during the summer
• Efficient and detail-oriented
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Perform basic product design modifications.
• Perform AutoCAD & Inventor Drafting tasks on drawing revisions and creation.
• Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment.
• Perform engineering change processes as necessary to support existing products.
• Communicate with team members to gather information about project requirements or to report progress on a project.
• Conducting technical research to identify issues and propose solutions.
• Create rapid prototypes through 3D printing.
• Test plumbing products to performance standards and report results for existing products, new prototypes and product returns.
