Job summary

Antares is seeking a Mechanical Design Intern to support the design, analysis, and testing of Mark-1 and JANUS-1 components. You will work under a Responsible Engineer and take ownership of a defined set of components within one engineering system.

Interns join a fast-paced, hands-on environment at our Torrance, CA headquarters, collaborating with engineers, operators, and other experts to move projects forward and deliver tangible results for critical missions.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• Entering junior or senior year of study.
• 6+ months of technical engineering experience outside coursework (labs, projects or prior internships).

Responsibilities

• Support the design, analysis, development, and testing of mechanical components for Mark-1 and JANUS-1.
• Own a defined component or project scope under guidance of a Responsible Engineer.
• Create and refine engineering designs, drawings, test plans, and documentation.
• Participate in design reviews and communicate technical decisions, risks, and results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Seek feedback and demonstrate increasing independence over time.
• Execute a long-duration engineering project and present results to the team.
