Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Meat Specialist in our Meat department. This full-time role handles cutting, merchandising and customer service for fresh meat commodities. The incumbent must be 18+ and operate in a fast-paced environment with safety and hygiene in mind.

The position reports to the Store Manager and works with a team to deliver friendly service, assist customers, and ensure product quality and stock levels.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Hy-Vee food safety training completed.
• Over one year of related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring and patience.
• Greets customers and learns names to address them personally when possible.
• Assists customers by escorting to products, securing items, and handling heavy loads.
• Tenders, grinds, and cuts merchandise and prepares cutting lists.
• Monitors refrigeration for proper temperatures and adheres to hygiene guidelines.
• Wraps, weighs, labels and replenishes products; maintains department cleanliness.
• Reports to work as scheduled and collaborates with team to ensure customer satisfaction.
