Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market in Albuquerque seeks a Meat Clerk to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced department. You will handle meat receipt, storage, grinding, and rotation, while helping customers with questions and special orders.

You will ensure safe handling, cleanliness, and adherence to department procedures, including daily sanitation and accurate product labeling. The role supports flexible scheduling and strong teamwork across the store.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent, with basic math, weights and measures.
• Must be dependable and reliable and perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing and friendly demeanor with the ability to interact with customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication skills and ability to take direction and work in a team.
• General housekeeping and sanitation in the department.
• Adhere to safety, health, weights and measures regulations and company recipes.
• Stand for up to 4 hours, and up to 8 hours per shift; may walk up to 2 miles per 8 hours.
• Work in a temperature controlled area with proper housekeeping.
• Ability to lift 25–90 lbs., move pallets up to 500 lbs. and other physical tasks.
• Operate equipment like band saw, grinder, tenderizer and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level of customer service and food handling as part of a fast-paced team.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload deliveries and rotate stock.
• Assist customers with questions and special orders; guide product location in store.
• Follow Meat Department procedures and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
