Job summary

The Merc Co+op in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Meat & Seafood Cooperator (18+) for a full-time position. You will cut, prepare, wrap and process meat while delivering quality customer service in a fast-paced co-op environment.

Cooperators work with department Specialists and Managers, maintain safety standards, assist with ordering and inventory, and stay informed about promotions. Weekend and holiday work may be required, with regular performance and timely attendance.

• Must be over 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department specialists to execute daily tasks within the department, including opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned.
• Provide exceptional, prompt and friendly service in person and over the phone.
• Follow safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions; report safety risks to store management.
• Support training of new staff by modeling best practices and department procedures.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and other duties as assigned.
• Gain knowledge of cooperative ownership and business model practices; respond to product questions.
• Stay current with promotions and ads.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
