The Merc Co+op in Lawrence, KS is seeking a part-time Cooperator in the Meat & Seafood department. You will cut, prepare, wrap, and process a variety of meat products while delivering friendly service to shoppers in a fast-paced environment.

This entry-level position supports department specialists, helps with stocking, safety, and promotions, and requires evening shifts (4pm–9pm) with Fri/Sat/Sun availability. Weekend/holiday work is expected.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with department Specialists to execute daily tasks (opening, mid, closing).
• Provide exceptional, prompt and friendly service in person and over the phone.
• Follow safety procedures and report safety risks to management.
• Support training of new staff by modeling best practices.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and other duties as assigned.
• Gain knowledge of cooperative ownership and products.
• Stay informed about promotions and ads.
• Work weekends and holidays.
• Report to work on schedule and on time.
