Job summary

The Merc Co+op in Lawrence, KS seeks a Produce Cooperator to join our team. You will assist with receiving, pricing, culling, prepping, displaying and rotating produce, floral and department products while delivering fast, friendly service to shoppers.

This entry-level role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays; you will collaborate with Specialists and Managers, help with inventory and training new staff, and stay current on promotions and store communications.

Responsibilities

• Work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Collaborate with department Specialists to execute daily tasks including opening, mid, and closing duties.
• Provide exceptional, prompt and friendly service in person and over the phone.
• Follow safety procedures and report safety risks to store management.
• Support training of new staff by modeling best practices and procedures.
• Assist with ordering, inventory, and other duties as assigned.
• Gain knowledge of cooperative ownership and products sold; respond to questions and suggestions.
• Stay current with promotions and store communications; engage appropriately.
• Reports to work as scheduled and on time.
