Job summary

Kj's Market is looking for a part-time Meat/Seafood Clerk to greet guests, help them find products, and maintain a fresh and organized department. You will slice, trim, and price meat and seafood, assist with receiving and stocking, and keep areas clean and safe for customers and staff.

The role requires ability to lift heavy items, work in a cold environment, and stand for long periods. Prior selling experience and teamwork are a plus in this family-owned store.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally and 25 lbs constantly.
• Able to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Must work in a cold environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides polite, friendly greetings and interactions with guests as they approach the department.
• Creates a selling environment using selling skills.
• Prepares knife-ready products for sale (slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price).
• Assists in product receiving, inventory, and storage.
• Prices, stocks, and rotates frozen items, prepared meats, and fresh meat/seafood in sales areas.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all meat/seafood prep areas and sales floor.
• Maintains high quality and freshness; ensures products are in date.
• Communicates shrink issues to management and guests requests to management.
• Makes PA announcements for sale and promotions in the meat/seafood department.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

• Creates a selling environment using selling skills.
• Prepares knife-ready products for sale (slice, trim, wrap, weigh, and price) according to Floco Foods standards.
• Assists in product receiving, inventory, and storage.
• Prices, stocks, and rotates frozen items, prepared meats, and fresh meat/seafood in sales areas.
• Maintains safety and sanitation standards in all areas that come in contact with meat/seafood and in the prep areas, coolers, freezers, and sales floor.
• Maintains high quality and freshness with products available for sale. Ensures all products are in date.
• Communicates shrink issues to management.
• Communicates guests requests/concerns to management.
• Makes PA announcements for sale and promotional items in the meat/seafood department.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by management.

• Should possess good interpersonal skills, effective selling skills, and have an outgoing personality.
