Job summary

Harris Teeter in Charleston, SC is seeking a part-time Meat/Seafood Clerk to process, package, and stock meat products according to Meat Standards. The role requires assisting customers, maintaining clean work areas, unloading stock, and reloading salvage.

When needed, you will perform seafood clerk duties to support the department and store operations. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, or related experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience/training; or equivalent.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to write simple correspondence in English.
• Ability to present information to customers and associates who speak only English.
• Math skills: add/subtract two-digit numbers using dollars and weights.
• Complete Company training including new hire orientation, food safety, and customer service.
• Physical demands: stand, lift up to 50–100 pounds, reach, and operate in a cool environment.
• Work environment: cool, wet, and loud conditions with moving equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process/pack meat products according to Meat Standards.
• Stock merchandising areas and assist with unloading stock.
• Provide customer service and assist customers as needed.
• Reload salvage and perform duties of seafood clerk when assigned.
