Job summary

Fresh Thyme Market in the Midwest is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to keep cases stocked and clean while helping customers with friendly service.

The role requires adherence to department procedures, basic math and weights, and awareness of food safety rules. Prior grocery experience is a plus; ability to work varied hours is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; preferred 1–2 years grocery retail Meat dept experience.
• Must maintain highest level of customer service and safety standards.
• Knowledge of health department guidelines and weights/measures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of meat and seafood cases, prep area, and storage areas for sanitation and safety.
• Stock meat and seafood cases with accuracy in pricing and labeling.
• Monitor product rotation and expiry dates to ensure freshness.
• Assist customers at the meat counter with purchases and product selection.
• Operate equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, and pallet jacks safely.
• Follow COOL compliance for seafood products and proper dating procedures.
