The role involves receiving, storing, and grinding meats; assisting customers with questions and special orders; and maintaining a clean, organized department while following the company’s safety and sanitation programs. A team-oriented, flexible schedule is required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent; basic math, weights, and measurements knowledge.
• Reliable, dependable and able to perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor; strong customer interaction skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Good communication and ability to work in a team.
• General housekeeping and sanitation; follow safety, health regulations.
• Stand for up to 4 hours; 8 hours per shift; walk up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work in a temperature-controlled area; housekeeping in department; clean and sanitize work area.
• Vision required for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry 25–90 lbs.; move pallets up to 500 lbs.; move racks up to 70 lbs.; multiple tasks across 8–10 hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide high level customer service and product knowledge in the Meat Department.
• Receive, store, and grind meats; unload deliveries; rotate stock to prevent aging.
• Assist customers with questions, special orders, and product locations.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to safety, health, and sanitation guidelines in the department.
