Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a meat department team member to receive, rotate, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats and assist members with questions. You will maintain safety and cleanliness standards while supporting club policies and delivering a positive member experience.

Regular attendance is essential and teamwork is emphasized to ensure fast, friendly service. The role involves moving inventory, maintaining stock levels, and upholding GOLD standards in a busy club

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with fresh and processed meats preferred.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.
• Prior experience working in a meat and/or deli department preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Members by answering questions regarding meats, poultry, and seafood.
• Makes recommendations on food products when necessary.
• Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Assists the meat cutter in packaging freshly cut meats and seafood.
• May grind hamburger meat.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery.
• Ensures that all delivered meat meets or exceeds company quality standards.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, prepared foods, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment, display fixtures, and areas in the meat department.
