The Fresh Market Inc. seeks a Retail Category Manager for Meat & Seafood in our Store Support Center. You will lead category planning, pricing, and promotional strategies to drive financial performance and optimize assortment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 4-7+ years of Category Management or related experience.
• Deep knowledge of grocery business and systems/processes.
• Experience understanding consumer demand in fast-paced retail/grocery.
• Strong relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
• Merchandising, product, and marketing skills.
• Analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to travel for trade shows and store trips.
• Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and project management.

Responsibilities

• Set product assortment for your category based on standards and item performance.
• Develop pricing strategy to achieve department financial goals.
• Define promotional strategy for your category.
• Determine merchandising minimums by SKU.
• Optimize sales to space through the category review process.
• Define monthly shrink targets by category.
• Evaluate new item performance.
• Maintain schematic integrity with regular reviews and updates.
• Review fixture plans for new store openings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners on marketing strategy.
• Monitor trends in products, consumer behavior, market share, and competition.
• Find and evaluate new vendors and approve new items/vendors.
• Ensure quality standards are upheld.
