Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Retail Category Manager for Meat & Seafood at our Store Support Center. You will support assortment, pricing, promotions, and performance across the category to drive financial results.

Ideal candidates bring 4–7+ years of category management in grocery, strong merchandising skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams. Travel to trade shows and store trips is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; 4–7+ years in Category Management or related field.
• Deep knowledge of grocery business, systems, and processes.
• Ability to travel for trade shows and store trips.
• Strong working relationships with peers and cross-functional teams.
• Strong merchandising, product, and marketing skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiating, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Set product assortment for your category per brand standards and performance.
• Develop pricing strategy to meet department financial goals.
• Define promotional strategy for your category.
• Determine merchandising minimums by SKU.
• Optimize sales to space through category review process.
• Define monthly shrink targets by category.
