Job summary

JBS Foods in Ottumwa is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead the Loin Bone 2ND team. The role involves achieving production targets, supervising workers, enforcing safety and cleanliness, and ensuring policy compliance on the line.

The position requires strong communication, conflict‑resolution skills, and the ability to work with the Union and USDA staff. Hours typically start early with extended shifts, and sponsorship is not available for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience and leadership abilities in a production setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage conflicts and maintain productive team relations.
• Bilingual abilities are advantageous in a multi-language environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed production goals set forth by plant management.
• Supervise production employees.
• Monitor and ensure proper procedures, safety, and cleanliness of production employees.
• Ensure policy compliance with all production employees.
• Perform various duties as assigned.
• Responsible for meeting volume goals and reducing costs while maintaining good relations with the Union, USDA (meat), and maintenance teams.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and HR policies.
