Job summary

Nspproteins in Owasso, OK is seeking a Maintenance Helper on 1st shift to support the maintenance team in keeping plant equipment, conveyors, and facilities in safe, clean, and efficient condition. You will assist with routine and preventive maintenance, follow safety protocols, and help with repairs, installation, and downtime reduction.

This role requires a high school diploma and ability to work in a cold meat-processing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• Previous maintenance experience, preferably in food/meat processing or industrial setting.
• Knowledge of plumbing and general building maintenance.
• Experience operating maintenance and groundskeeping equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Able to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced meat processing environment.
• Proficient reading/writing/communication in English; Spanish helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect waste storage and maintain wastewater system for continuous operation.
• Assist technicians with routine and preventive maintenance on equipment, conveyors, refrigeration, boilers, and plant machinery.
• Perform basic tasks: cleaning, lubricating, replacing parts under supervision.
• Move tools, parts, and equipment to job sites as needed.
• Keep maintenance shop and work areas clean and organized.
• Ensure safety, food safety, and sanitation standards are followed.
• Assist with equipment installation, setup, or relocation.
• Respond to urgent repair requests and help reduce downtime.
• Follow lockout/tagout and other safety protocols around machinery.
• Other duties as assigned.
