Job summary

Nspproteins in Owasso, OK is seeking a Maintenance Technician for 1st shift to perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.

The role involves preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, and collaboration with production staff, with a rotating 6:00 AM–6:00 PM shift, four 12-hour days per week and weekends off every other week.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including troubleshooting and repair techniques.
Strong knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems (e.g., ammonia, glycol, Freon).
Must understand PLC's frequency controls, direct current devices, temperature controls and transducers.
Knowledge of production equipment and processes.
Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatic equipment.
Experience on high voltage AC (480v, 220, 120), low control voltage AC (24V, 12V, 5V).
Knowledge of meat processing, safety, and quality standards.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of safety regulations in manufacturing.
Ability to work in fast-paced, physically demanding environments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
English communication skills; Spanish helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
Inspect equipment to identify issues and perform adjustments or repairs.
Maintain detailed maintenance records and logs.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems in processing equipment.
Replace defective parts, motors, and control systems.
Collaborate with production staff to address malfunctions promptly.
Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Implement upgrades to improve performance and efficiency.
Ensure installations comply with safety and standards.
Prepare reports on equipment performance and maintenance needs.
Ensure regulatory compliance and internal policies.
Identify opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and share best practices.
Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
Serve as backup Refrigeration Technician when needed.
Other duties as assigned.
