Job summary

Fred Meyer is hiring for a Meat Department role in our store. The position involves preparing and displaying meat products, assisting customers, and upholding safety and quality standards. Candidates should be able to work weekends and holidays and have basic reading of shelf tags and product labels.

Prior meat handling experience is a plus. You will be part of a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment, contributing to clean, well-organized sales floors and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
• Able to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling, etc.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, orderly manner.
• Check product quality; make sure it is always fresh, safe, and merchandise is properly rotated.
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, coolers clean and well organized.
• Wait on customers and greet them, assist them in finding products.
• Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat, Company, and State and Federal laws.
• Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale.
