Job summary

STF in Sioux City, IA is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent to supervise maintenance activities supporting plant production. The role involves directing repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment, and supporting the Plant Engineer while promoting safety.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, maintenance planning, and safety focus, with experience in a meat processing environment preferred.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred with five years mechanical field experience and five years supervisory experience.
Excellent management skills and ability to recruit, train and motivate personnel.
Bilingual skills a plus; capable of reading English technical documents and communicating with USDA/plant personnel.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, and control maintenance activities across buildings and equipment to keep the plant in operation.
Oversee PM crew and maintenance projects, coordinating with operations and sanitation teams.
Lead the maintenance team, provide feedback, assess performance, and address issues.
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to improve safety and reliability of plant operations.
Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA/FSIS regulations, and cost-control initiatives.
Coordinate with other departments to meet short- and long-term objectives.
Assist in identifying, developing, and implementing special projects to meet labor and production goals.
