Job summary

ShopRite of Tri City Plaza in Vernon, CT is seeking a Meat Department associate to deliver a great customer experience by wrapping, packaging, scaling, and price marking merchandise. You will maintain a neat, clean department and perform tasks efficiently and safely in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities include stocking, price marking, sanitation, staying aware of COOl regulations, handling cold storage, and supporting daily sales reporting.

Qualifications

• Reads, writes and speaks English proficiently.
• Able to perform basic math.
• Regularly lifts 35 lbs and occasionally 80–90 lbs.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling.
• Interacts with customers in a friendly, helpful manner.
• Works cooperatively with others and maintains punctuality.
• Able to stand, bend and work in varying temperatures for long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Check refrigeration equipment and report issues.
• Stock merchandise and display cases in the Meat Department.
• Assist in price marking and ensuring product rotation.
• Complete daily reports and inventory counts.
• Handle products in accordance with COOl regulations and safety standards.
• Promote charitable promotions to customers.
• Work overtime and maintain good attendance.
