ShopRite of Somers Point in Somers Point, NJ, is hiring a Meat Clean-up Clerk. You will perform maintenance and cleaning in the Meat Department and related areas to keep equipment, premises, and fixtures sanitary and ready for customers.

The role requires the ability to lift 35 lbs regularly and up to 80-90 lbs occasionally, stand for long periods, work in refrigerated conditions, follow health regulations, and provide friendly customer service.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• Basic math ability required.
• Able to stand/walk for long shifts.
• Able to work in varying temperatures.
• Comply with health and safety regulations.
• Able to lift 35 lbs regularly and up to 80-90 lbs occasionally.
• Able to interact with customers friendly and cooperatively.
• Must work well with others and follow attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, utensils and equipment per standards.
• Keep floors free of debris and spills.
• Assemble/disassemble Meat Department equipment (e.g., band saws, grinders).
• Monitor cleaning supplies; inform manager when stock is low.
• Work in refrigerated areas and cold storage as described.
• Check item prices and know locations in the store.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand at workstation for full shifts, possibly longer than 8 hours.
• Adhere to C.O.O.L. regulations and safety labels on chemicals.
• Unload trucks and move merchandise weighing 35 lbs. (up to 80-90 lbs. occasionally).
• Lift/pull/push/rotate merchandise as required.
• Report equipment problems; operate equipment safely.
