Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak English.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Stand, bend, twist, reach, push/pull and regularly lift 35 lbs., occasionally 80-90 lbs.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling and work habits.
• Ability to stand/walk for long shifts.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products with potential allergens.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Adherence to time and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Check refrigeration equipment for proper performance and report issues.
• Maintain sanitation according to policy.
• Stock merchandise and display cases.
• Be knowledgeable about department products.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment.
• Follow weights and measures in pricing and invoices.
• Work in refrigerated and frozen storage areas as required.
• Complete required reports (daily sales, inventory, receiving logs).
• Check prices and locate items in the store.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand for long shifts and handle heavy merchandise.
• Adhere to COO regulations and safety standards.
• Follow company policies and training programs.
