Job summary

Hometown-Grocers,-Inc. is seeking a Meat Department Manager to lead the Meat & Seafood team, ensuring policy adherence, controlling labor and expenses, maintaining pricing accuracy, stock levels, merchandising, and excellent guest service.

You will coach, schedule, review performance, train staff, and uphold safety and quality standards, while working with the Store Manager and other department leaders to exceed guest expectations and drive sales.

Qualifications

• High School Education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5-7 years of leadership experience, at least 2 years in a manager role.
• Thorough knowledge of the retail food business and perishable department operations.
• Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training and follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Leads, coaches, teaches, and reinforces culture and performance expectations for Meat associates.
• Maintains adequate staff levels by interviewing applicants and extending offers.
• Ensures team receives proper training and finalizes weekly schedules.
• Writes and conducts performance reviews of Meat associates.
• Documents policy violations and takes appropriate corrective action up to termination.
• Provides guidance to Meat associates and ensures department standards are met.
