Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum 4 years professional experience in meat department or grocery retail.
• Journeyman cutter program completed.
• Knowledge of health department guidelines and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly meat department sales and labor projections to maximize profits.
• Control costs and inventory, ensure proper ordering and displays.
• Hire, train, schedule, coach, and review meat department staff.
• Oversee shift operations and approve work schedules.
• Ensure meat cases are stocked, correctly priced, and rotated.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in all meat department areas.
• Assist customers and upsell products at the meat counter.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments for quality and temperature.
