Shaw’s and Star Market is seeking a Meat Department Manager to lead daily operations, ensure food safety, and optimize service and profitability in a fast-paced retail environment. You will supervise staff, coordinate production, and maintain displays while upholding high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a Meat Department or similar retail team.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and compliance.
• Ability to plan production, manage inventory, and schedule staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily Meat Department operations to meet service, quality, and financial expectations.
• Maintain a professional, customer-focused environment and respond to inquiries and special orders.
• Plan and coordinate daily production activities including prep, packaging, stocking, and merchandising.
• Ensure displays are stocked, rotated, labeled, and maintained to standards.
• Implement promotional and seasonal programs as scheduled.
• Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature, and regulatory requirements.
• Review production results and adjust activities to support yield and profitability goals.
• Manage ordering, inventory levels, shrink, reclamation, and departmental expenses.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas including preparation rooms, coolers, freezers, display cases, and equipment.
• Schedule, train, coach, and oversee associates to ensure coverage and performance.
