Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Woodcliff Lake, NJ is hiring a Meat Cutter to cut, prepare, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal and poultry while ensuring top quality and customer satisfaction. You will also train and support Meat Cutter Trainees, maintain hygiene standards, and help prevent spoilage.

The role emphasizes teamwork, accuracy, and strong knowledge of different cuts, with a focus on safe handling and excellent service to shoppers in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Successfully completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or an equivalent training program.
• UK Exceptions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (i.e. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to make sure it meets WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and assists in preventing spoilage.
• Mentors and supports assigned Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation, and safe work practices.
• Reports safety hazards and performs other duties as assigned.
