Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in Avon, OH is seeking a Meat Cutter to receive, rotate, cut, wrap, and merchandise fresh and processed meats, including special cuts ordered by Members. You will help maintain sanitation and safety standards in the meat department and assist in meat selections.

You’ll work as part of a team to deliver friendly, fast service, stock meat cases, and ensure accurate labeling and pricing. The role requires completion of a training program or apprenticeship and previous meat

Qualifications

• Meat cutting experience and knowledge of trimming and portioning.
• Understanding sanitation, safety standards, and food-handling regulations.
• Comfortable assisting members and providing recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Engages and provides assistance to Members by making recommendations along with answering questions regarding meat, poultry, and seafood. Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, and/or processes fresh meats to company cutting standards. Weighs, packages, wraps, and labels cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood to company packaging standards.
• Maintains meat cases and ensures inventory is stocked and properly displayed.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, and cheeses according to expiration dates and disposes of damaged products per guidelines.
• Cleans and sanitizes all equipment and display fixtures in the meat department.
• Inspects and stores meat upon delivery and ensures quality standards are met.
