Job summary

Hy-Vee, Inc. is seeking a Meat Specialist to cut and merchandise all fresh meat items in the Meat department. You will provide friendly customer service, assist with product selection, and ensure proper refrigeration and hygiene.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, and adherence to department guidelines. Employment is contingent on pre-employment screening and safety training.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent and Hy-Vee food safety training.
• Over one year of related work experience preferred.
• Must be able to solve practical problems and perform arithmetic.

Responsibilities

• Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service in all interactions.
• Smiles, greets customers and learns names to address them personally.
• Assists customers by guiding to products and handling heavy items.
• Tenderizes, grinds, and cuts merchandise and prepares cutting lists.
• Monitors refrigeration and ensures department hygiene and safety.
