Job summary

IGA Southeast in the Carolinas seeks a Meat Department Associate to provide polite, friendly service to guests and ensure quality meat products. You will cut, weigh, trim, price, stock and rotate meats, and handle special guest requests while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

Join a family-owned grocer with a long heritage since 1922. This role requires ability to lift heavy loads, work in a cold environment, and be 18+. Weekly pay and benefits are part of the overall offering.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 100 lbs. occasionally and 40 lbs. constantly.
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to work in a cold environment.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
• Previous meat cutting experience.
• Meat cutting skill test qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide polite, friendly service to all guests.
• Prepare product for sale (cutting, weighing, trimming) according to Floco Foods standards.
• Prices, stocks, and rotates frozen and fresh meat.
• Provide special guest service requests (eg. special cuts, slicing).
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, sales and prep areas.
• Maintain high quality, freshness and properly dated product available for sale.
• Communicate temperature failures to supervisor.
• Announce meat department sale items on the PA system.
• Assist in product receiving and storage.
• All other tasks as assigned by management.
