Festival Foods is hiring a Meat Cutter in Onalaska, WI. The role involves fresh meat preparation, grinding, wrapping, and trimming to high quality standards. You’ll lead on the counter, ensure safety and sanitation, and assist guests with product knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience as a butcher or meat cutter in grocery, retail or meat production.
• Able to deal tactfully with guests and staff.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of perishable foods, especially meat.

Responsibilities

• Expert meat cutting: cut, grind, wrap and trim non-case ready meat to standards.
• Provide leadership on the sales floor, ensure safety and sanitation guidelines are followed.
• Apply butcher knowledge to assist guests and offer best product options.
• Maintain service and self-service cases with fresh, frozen and processed items.
• Support teammates and contribute to Meat Department culture.
• Drive sales by keeping displays appealing and organized.
• Minimize waste by following production lists and trim standards.
• Package, label and store meat products per policy.
• Assist in training Utility team in grinding, sausage making, service counter orders and wrapping.
• Lead cleanliness, equipment maintenance and department sanitization.
• Deliver excellent guest service at the meat counter and assist with guest needs.
• Fulfill special orders in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties to support the team and honor attendance commitments.
