The Kroger Family of Companies is hiring for a Meat Department position at 4290 W Jonathan Moore Pike, Columbus, IN 47201. You will assist with cutting, packaging, labeling, and customer service in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Responsibilities include stocking, temperature logs, sanitation, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations while delivering friendly service and quality foods to customers.

Qualifications

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels.
• Must work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools, and operate certain equipment.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
• Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
• Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, safety, and food handling

Responsibilities

• Cut, grind, slice, prepare, and package meat per policy.
• Stock and display meat items safely and rotate stock.
• Keep department temperature logs updated and accurate.
• Maintain clean, organized sales areas, backrooms, and coolers.
• Provide friendly customer service and accurate product labeling.
• Unload trucks and place orders in proper cooler locations.
• Wash and sanitize equipment per health department procedures.
