Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Phoenix is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut, prepare, display, and sell meat products. You will ensure a positive brand image through courteous, friendly service and adherence to health and safety standards.

Responsibilities include cutting and merchandising, maintaining quality standards, mentoring trainees, and supporting store programs. Must lift up to 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 13+ months retail experience.
• Completion of WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• UK exceptions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cut, platters, and merchandise beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepare specialty meat merchandise such as sausage and cured meats.
• Ensure product meets WFM quality standards and maintain sampling program.
• Monitor and prevent spoilage; mentor Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provide courteous customer service and respond to customer needs promptly.
• Maximize sales through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising.
• Follow health, sanitation, and Weights & Measures procedures; maintain clean work area.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties; ensure accurate signs and pricing.
• Report safety hazards and assist with required trainings and meetings.
