Job summary

Whole Foods Market IP. L.P. in Washington, DC seeks a Meat Cutter to cut, prepare, display and sell meat products while upholding health and safety standards. You will deliver friendly service, stock displays, and support team members in a fast-paced store setting.

Responsibilities include trimming beef/pork/lamb, preparing sausages and cured meats, and mentoring Meat Cutter Trainees. 14+ months retail meat experience and completion of the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program are required.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Successfully completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or an equivalent training program.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausages, oven-ready, cured meats).
• Checks product against WFM quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program and monitors spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s) and supports team.
• Provides courteous, responsive customer service and takes phone calls promptly.
• Ensures proper pricing, signs, and displays; maintains clean, sanitary environment.
