Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club in New Jersey is seeking a Meat Cutter to join the fresh-meats team. You will receive, cut, wrap, and merchandise meat, poultry, and seafood, and assist in the rotisserie area and deli when needed.

The role emphasizes sanitation, adherence to cutting standards, accurate labeling, rotating stock, and providing friendly service to Members. Prior meat-cutting experience and training program completion are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of a training program/apprenticeship required.
• Previous meat cutting experience required.
• Knowledge of automatic/hand wrapping machines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engages and assists Members by making recommendations regarding meat, poultry, and seafood.
• Prepares special cuts of meat ordered by Members.
• Cuts, grinds, wraps, and labels meats to company standards.
• Rotates meats, poultry, seafood, and cheeses according to expiration dates.
• Maintains sanitation and safety in the meat department and on equipment.
• Receives and unpacks meat deliveries and ensures stock accuracy.
