Job summary

Whole Foods Market in Superior, CO is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut, prep, display and sell beef, pork, lamb, and poultry. You will provide friendly service and follow health and safety standards.

You should have at least 14 months of retail meat experience and have completed the WFM Butcher Apprentice Program, or an equivalent training. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule including weekends.

Qualifications

• 14+ months retail experience.
• Completed WFM Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• UK Exceptions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises products (beef, pork, lamb, veal, poultry).
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (e.g. sausage, oven ready products, and cured meats).
• Checks product to ensure it meets quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and prevents spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Maximizes sales through proper prep, storage, rotation, and merchandising.
• Follows health, sanitation and safety procedures.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties; ensures pricing accuracy.
