Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create welcoming environment for customers by answering questions about products sold in the department and store.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions; suggest items.
• Cut meats to customer requests using proper cutting equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of meat specials.
• Provide customers with requested fresh/frozen products and accurate portion sizes.
• Recommend meat items to meet customer needs.
• Use equipment in meat department according to guidelines.
• Prepare food to company standards.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with ads.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety guidelines.
• Reinforce safety programs and notify management of unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity.
