Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice to learn the craft of cutting, trimming, and preparing a variety of meat products. You will assist with displays, maintain cleanliness and food safety, and deliver friendly customer service in a fast-paced environment.

No prior cutting experience is required; a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are essential as you grow your skills alongside experienced meat cutters.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn through on-the-job training and mentorship.
• Strong work ethic and reliability.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation and safe handling practices for raw meat.
• Friendly and helpful attitude with customer service focus.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., stand for long periods, and work in refrigerated environments.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim, and prepare a variety of meat products under supervision.
• Set up displays and maintain refrigeration and cleanliness in the meat department.
• Provide excellent customer service and answer product questions.
• Support team with daily tasks and help maintain store standards.
