Position Summary
Responsible for meat operation including but not limited to preparing, storing, cutting, cleaning, and serving meat.

Essential Functions

1. Monitor food distribution and ensure that guidelines are followed.
2. Clean and sterilize dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, and facilities.
3. Maintain coolers, cases, and displays by keeping them stocked.
4. Observe scheduled shift hours as assigned by meat and/or store manager.
5. Give all customers friendly, courteous, and prompt service.
6. Maintain good communication with the meat manager.
7. Share responsibility for controlling shrink.
8. Properly record all hours worked. Verify and sign the time ticket report.
9. Monitor food preparation and serving.
10. Assist in recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems for weekly and monthly meat purchases.
11. Assist in maintaining proper records to control shrink through inventory and ordering.
12. Inventory all products on hand before prepaying a meat order.
13. Assist Meat Manager in taking a four-week period meat inventory.
14. Ensure that product is being rotated when received and stocked.
15. Ensure that all meat coolers and meat cases are running at the proper temperature.
16. Ensure that proper safety procedures are being used.
17. Properly clean and maintain the meat department, coolers, cases, and equipment.

Position Qualifications

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).

Experience: No prior experience necessary.

Skills & Abilities: Basic computer skills.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift/carry up to 10 lbs frequently, and other physical requirements as detailed in the original description.
