Overview

Available Work Shifts OR Days and Times Team Members Must be Available to Work

Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. 10am-6pm

Length of Time Sprouts anticipates requiring coverage of these hours

Team Members interested in hours for a role different than their current position should follow the existing internal application process by completing an Internal Application, accessible electronically via the Electronic Internal Job Board. Paper applications are also available from the Administrative Coordinator.

Overview of Responsibilities

• Follow established department procedures for receiving and unloading shipments, pricing, and stocking to ensure quality, protection, accuracy, and proper rotation of products in cases and coolers.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation requirements set by the company and mandated by state, federal, and OSHA regulations.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and government weights, measures, and labeling laws.
• Greet customers and take their orders.
• Cut, tray, and package meat and seafood products as required for the day.
• Follow proper safety practices when using all cutting accessories; wear mesh gloves when using knives.
• Participate in pre-inventory preparation, including back stock and matching tags to products.

Qualifications

To be a Meat Cutter at Sprouts, you must have the following qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years professional experience.
• Preferred 2-3 years grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable, dependable, and able to follow directions.
• Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Strong communication skills, outgoing and friendly demeanor.
• Ability to perform repetitive activities.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and stay organized.
• Excellent customer service skills and positive attitude.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business requires, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Capable of lifting/carrying products weighing between 25 to 90 lbs., over distances up to 10 feet, for durations up to 20 hours.
• Ability to operate a pallet jack moving up to 500 lbs. over distances up to 100 feet for up to 5 hours.
• Ability to move racks of products weighing up to 70 lbs. over distances up to 50 feet for up to 10 hours.
• Ability to move tables weighing up to 70 lbs., over short distances, for up to 1 hour.
• Ability to pull down gates requiring up to 10 lbs. of force over short distances for up to 1 hour.
• Use of a bilateral coupling force up to 30 lbs. for up to 100 hours.
• Use of a 2-step stool for up to 10 steps per hour per shift.
• Stand for up to 4 hours continuously, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Work inside a temperature-controlled area.
• Good vision for using sharp knives and equipment.
• Walk up to 2 miles during an 8-hour shift.
